ASFYT 101 is the foundational course in the Anatomy Studies for Yoga Teachers curriculum. It introduces the language and principles used throughout the series, including anatomical terminology, joint structure and movement, planes of motion, basic biomechanics, and a practical framework for observing the body in motion.
Rather than memorizing isolated facts, you’ll learn to recognize patterns and apply functional anatomy directly to your teaching.
Build your continuing education around the areas most relevant to your practice and teaching. Each subject area includes individual courses designed to stand on their own while also connecting to a broader curriculum.
Study functional anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, and the body in motion.

Self-paced courses are designed to give you the flexibility to pause, review, and revisit material as needed.
Selected courses may also be offered as guided cohorts, combining the same online course materials with scheduled live sessions.
Live sessions may include Q&A, discussion, experiential practice, case examples, and opportunities to apply what you’re learning to your own teaching.
Whether you study independently or join a cohort, the goal is the same: to help you understand the material more deeply and apply it with greater confidence in your practice and teaching.
